Britons facing credit card concerns

Britons should seek professional advice if they feel that their loan and credit card balances are becoming difficult to manage.

That is the view of Chris Tapp, director of Credit Action, who said that there are many charities offering information and guidance on financial management.

Customers concerned about how much they owe should take advantage of these free services, Mr Tapp added.

The comments come in response to a report from CreditExpert, which revealed that many Britons are beginning to experience physical and mental problems as a result of financial worries.

More than 6 million people in the UK believe that they owe more money than they can afford to pay back, while almost 10 million feel that they are at the limit of how much debt they can cope with.

"We have seen a growth in people struggling with finances and that certainly has knocked on to people worrying more about them," Mr Tapp noted.

"The best thing for people to do is to look up where they can get free and independent help from a money advice charity."
